YES!! It seems many of you have been having a hankering for some stew...and I aim to please! This is quite the random recipe, so hold on to your spoons.

We are doing a little redecorating in our front room/ dining room, and currently it looks like this!

And this is the view of the front door and stairs. No, we cannot answer the door. Yes, we can go upstairs, but only if you crawl on hands and knees through a maze of plastic. It is making for some interesting moments. Hopefully all will be finished tomorrow and we can start putting the room back together!

The kids have been in swim team for the last few weeks and are doing really well. It is tough, and sometimes they complain, but I love that it gets them up and moving every morning.

I'm REALLY late on posting about the end of the school year. The last day of school here was May 22nd. Jack had a cute little graduation ceremony from Kindergarten. He's so cute!

Here he is with his WONDERFUL teacher Mrs. Peluso. She just loved Jack and it made me so happy to know that they had a special connection.

This is Jack with the cutest little girl from his class Ava. I think they like each other. (the wind was really blowing...I did comb his hair for the graduation ceremony)

Here is Jack with his buddy Johnathan. He is such a cute kid and really liked Jack. Whenever I was at the school I could tell Johnathan wanted to be around Jack. It makes me happy to know that he is a kid that other kids want to be friends with.

I know this is totally random, but I was so shocked I just had to take a picture. This was taken with my cell phone (quite discretely I must say). I was in the UPS Store to mail some things and while I was waiting I noticed this lady making copies. Then I realized she was wearing some sort of Transformer underoos (or something like that) as REAL SHORTS?! OH, an here is the kicker...she was like 50 or something! Just zoom in and you'll see the full nature of the outfit...unreal!

Paul was able a week or so ago to head up to SLC and attend the graduation of his little brother Dave from medical school and the University of Utah. Dave is one amazing kid and we are so proud of him. He and his wife Ashley and daughter Anna will be heading off to North Carolina for a residency in plastic surgery. Paul was able to go visit the grave sites of his grandparents while he was there. He took the above picture with his cell phone. I just LOVE the mountains up there. It made me a little homesick.

It is our off year for birthday parties, but we still do a birthday dinner. Ella wanted to go to Paradise Bakery for hers and we met her cousins there. Her cute friend Macy was able to come too and we were thrilled to have her around again. (she moved at Christmas time) I'm not so sure where they get these poses from, but they were cracking us up!

Two of the cutest little 7-8 year old swimmers on earth. This is Ella with her darling cousin Lauren.

Woodinville, WA

Paul and I were able to take a quick (36 hour) trip to Seattle, WA this weekend. He had a quick conference on Saturday and I tagged along. I was really sad that we didn't have more time because I really enjoyed the one day I had there. We were actually in Woodinville, WA just North of Seattle. We stayed in the Willows Lodge (pictured above). It was cool (58 degrees or so) but SO SO lush and beautiful. Here are some thoughts I had while walking around by my self Saturday morning:
- As social as I am, I really like to be alone.
- I love to visit new and different places.
- I could live anywhere...I really think I could.
- I have been blessed to be able to see beauty in any environment.
- I love to watch people and see how they live their lives.
- Green is a magnificent color.
- I am BLESSED!!!

LOVE the "What Not To Wear" pic. That is classic...and a little scarey.
That was a great stew- but I am totally curious as to what you are doing in your front room - it looks like serious remodel!!
And I'm glad you enjoyed my neck of the woods up in SEattle. I miss it too there :)
Love the swim team pics. I can't take enough pictures of Lindsay and Bryce during swim team practices and meets. They just are so darn cute out there when they are swimming their hearts out. Looks like you feel the same. I'm sure Jack will learn to love it. Bryce was about his age his first year on the team and felt about the same way that first year too, now he is really sad when we have to skip practice for any reason.
I too am curious what exactly the remodel is. It looks major. You'll have to post some good before and after pics for those of us who haven't ever been in your house.
The underware.. Too funny. How does Jessica know so many people in AZ?? Well, I am not moving to Gilbert, but Chandler... Maybe we can meet 1/2 way at the San Tan Mall! Please keep in touch! I love all of these new AZ people I am meeting!
Love the Sunday Stew. Great stuff. I can't wait to see the new stuff at your house. LOVE all the pictures! I'm so glad you got to get away with Paul. And I love the CA post too...looks like the best trip ever.
I love the pix up top of your kids...how cute is that!
Fun stew post. WA looked beautiful. I love it there...I wish I could visit sometime soon.
Have another good week. It's always fun to see what's going on!
Wow. I wish I had that same outfit. It would go over real well here on the east coast. (sarcasm...) I would get stoned!
love your new header. Such a great picture, especially your girls. And I can't wait to see what you did to your front room. I am a little jealous.
That was fun to read! Hardy har har...the Transformer lady is HOT! Beautiful pictures of WA too!
ps. I like your new background and header picture of the kids! It's adorable and unique.
I can't get over the underoos complete with cellulite! Ewwww. Good job getting a pic...
Check out my blog and vote for my cute hubby!
Been missing the Stew...glad its back. Cannot wait to see what you are doing with your house- post asap. Love the swim team pictures- wish we had that here.
What a fun trip with Paul. love the thoughts and also love to be alone.
Also wish we had swim team close here. I think that is great to teach the kids discipline.
Dying about the transformer underwear. Too funny.
So glad you were able to sneak away for a little. It seems like that is about as long as Jim and I can seem to get away. Short and sweet.
Your new header is great.
i love the panties.....maybe i should adopt the look! can't wait to see pics of the remodel...i'm sure you'll be so glad you did it!
I can't wait to see finished pictures of your rooms. Love the molding!
Can't do swim team...I like my sleep.
Hey! I've missed you! (I've been sorta out of touch, myself.) Thanks for the catch up!
Delious dish. I really love getting caught up with your oh so busy life in one post. Perfect.
And I love your new header photo. It's so true to life. It's hard to get 4 little kids to sit still and smile!
So I LOVED that you escaped to WA with your hubby for 36 hours. Rich and I are off to New Orleans on Sunday for 32 hours. He's presenting a paper, I just wanted a few brief moments with just the 2 of us. Thanks to amazing friends (on Father's Day no less) we can leave our little brood behind (for the first time ever like this) and get some to just be us!
I too LOVE swim team. It's the ONLY way I can get my boys up and moving and have a time limit to finish chores and homework. We would be a mess without it. Plus ours isn't until 10:15 and 11 AM so we aren't up at the crack of dawn tossing them in the chilled water. Plus I love watching them swim in a meet. There is just such an exciment and it's different than with soccer or baseball.
I hope your house it back to normal soon. It looks like such a maze and I'm sure the kids don't mind climb through, around and under whenever possible.
So, I've been meaning to write back and say I'd LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to do lunch this summer. I'll be in Utah from July 7 until the 28th. I know you have a family reunion and hope the days overlap. Let me know if that will work. Anytime, anywhere. It would be wonderful!!
Why did I blow up that picture of the Transformer underoos? WHY!??
And that lace is priceless. I'm not sure I've ever seen anything that even comes close to this outfit. I will have to keep my eye out.
Did you do the picture at the top? It's amazing.
Can't wait to see the pictures after the redecorating.
How do you do so much?! You are my idol.
Stacy and Clinton would love to get a hold of that scary outfit lady! I love that you photographed her.
Kara- I just love that you took a picture of this discretely of course. Jackson has the same underroos. Bumble bee is what the yellow transformer is called. I thought I recogized them. They somehow looked inappropriate on the woman you photographed. How funny is that?!!
Hope you and your family are well.
