Curse you Disney Channel and Nickelodeon

Do any of you have to endure the dreaded.......

"Mom, this one time on Hannah Montana (insert appropriate show here ie. Suite life of Zack and Cody, Drake and Josh, and the new iCarly)......." this is then followed by a detailed, yet not coherent, string of descriptions of an episode that the child somehow found to be funny enough to recount. I am sitting there having to pretend I care, and to listen, and then guess when the appropriate time is to say, "yea, that's funny" with all the enthusiasm I can muster.

This then is repeated several times a day. I promise I try to limit the T.V. time, but it's obviously not enough. I'm not ready for pre-teen shows.

DOES ANYONE FEEL MY PAIN?

I guess my kids are too young, but I still can't stand Caillou, Fairly Odd Parents, Teletubbies, Barney, or the worst ever, Boobah! I know the stage you're in will be coming soon to our home. Yikes...any suggestions?

Kara! I've had so much fun reading our blog and catching up! Your family is adorable and by the way, I TOTALLY feel your pain! Mine seems to change every few weeks or so though...first it was Hannah Montana, now we're on to High School Musical 1 AND 2 and the thing that kills me is my 5 year old BOY walking around the house singing "You are the music in me!" UGHHH.

Yes. And we don't even have cable/dish. They store up episodes from their time at their cousins to tell me about. (I hate mustering enthusiasm...just not my thing.)

Do you remember the voice of all adults on Charlie Brown cartoons?.....that's the voice I hear when my kids start to recount any tv show. "Wa wa wa wa wa wa." I'm with ya, sista.

(found you from my pal Wendi's blog)

Oh, I hate when they tell me all about their video games and what they've accomplished (I saved Princess Peach!) I hate video games, I have no idea what you are talking about, and you shouldn't be playing them anyway but I'm a weak, weak mom!

this is hilarious! i had my husband read this last night and we were cracking up so hard. THIS IS OUR LIFE! we had this experience last night when we went out to dinner and my husband said, "this is excruciating!" this is an every day occurance and it's not like we don't already what happened, they show the same ones over and over and over...my 6 year old talks like this so oten that the sweet life of zack and cody sounds a little something like this..."mom, this one time on sweelizacody....." she doesn't even bother to pronounce the words anymore. yep, we can totally feel your pain.

hey, i heard you've been over to the gelato shop (the owner told me). we go on over after FHE, it's so fun! hope you liked it. :)

I always felt so bad about faking the enthusiasm with My kids, i thought I was the only one... I feel so much better now, thank you so much!

I don't have to deal with the teenager shows yet, but I do get reports about other shows Keenan watches. The reports go one forever! I give a nod, "Uh -huh" and then at the end I feel bad that I really didn't pay attention!

Hopefully your kids don't discover Yo Gabba Gabba. Chasie has fallen in love with it, and I think that if I have to watch it again, I will freak. Along with Curious George - she now walks around asking for Geroge...constantly...and it's driving me nuts - so yeah, I can feel your pain. Good Luck!!

Kara-
I wonder if you remember me - from Skyline - Shannan Jackson? Well, anyway, I found your blog through a series of people's favs lists and I've been blog stalking you for quite some time. But finally, I just had to break my silence because TOO MANY of your posts I relate to!!

I have two boys (and one on the way - I remember you posting a couple of months ago about cute baby shower gifts) and they love Drake and Josh. In fact, my 5 year old was telling us a funny story a couple of weeks ago how Drake and Josh stole a bunch of "boob covers" from some girls. I said, "You mean, bras?" My son says, "Oh yeah, bras, that's what I meant". I decided then that perhaps I should edit what they watch once in a while.

Talk to you later!!

It is the worst when it is a rerun and you know it. Josh isn't as funny since he lost all of that weight. It was better when Drake and Josh were more like Abbott and Costello.

Just yesterday Zack and Cody were in the Grizzly Bears Troop and they went camping. There was this annoying redheaded kid and I was dying for him to eat a bug or set himself on fire. One can only hope.

I'm so glad to have a chance to debrief.

Sorry, thankfully not there yet but I know its only a matter of time and I am pretty sure she gets a taste of it when the babysitters are here. Good Luck!
