I don't mean to brag...okay, I do!

Phoenix Magazine puts out an issue every year that highlights the top Dentists and top Dental Specialists in the greater Phoenix area. The "Top Dentists" and specialists are selected through a peer-review survey. Phoenix Magazine randomly surveys 1,500 Valley dentists and asks them to nominate those dentists and specialists who, in their judgment, are the best in their field.

I was so excited and proud to see that my husband Paul was selected as one of the Top Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons!!! I was a little surprised because we have only lived here for 2 years, but I guess the good people of Arizona know a good thing when they see it.

For those of you who may not think this is a big deal...

Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the United States.

There is some sort of dental office on EVERY corner here.

Only about 16-18 doctors were chosen for each specialty.

{I can brag this much because it's not about me right?!}

Want to hear something else really cool? My brother David Poelman who is a dentist in the Valley was also voted as a Top General Dentist!!! Seriously, I am surrounded by good people!! I was so proud of these guys. I will now try to go back to being humble...I will try.

I wish I lived near you. I have the worst teeth ever and your husband would be giddy with excitement if he could get me in that chair. As my parents say, I paid for Dr. Gordon's home (my childhood dentist) and pool! I've never had a cavity just everything else!

Congrats Paul!!! (And to your brother!) Although, I am not one bit surprised. Paul is a great guy and a hard worker. I know he deserves it and we are so proud of him! It's great when other people recognize what you see in your husband all along.

And we really do want you guys to come out some time! I know it's hard with 6 on a long plane ride, but we could do a beach trip next spring/summer or something. Plan on it!

So so proud of both Paul and Dave! It's no small feat, we understand what it's all about right? We've been out of school for one year...we are looking forward to more positive changes and progress. I have to remember to be patient. Thanks for your examples.

Especially loving this knowing that Paul will die (he is so adoringly humble) when he finds out that you wrote this about him. We love Paul!

We knew we had an exceptional nephew! It is that "being trained in Wisconsin" thing.....right? Congratulations to both of you!!! Wish Paul lived closer and I'd turn Wayne and his TMJ problem over to him.

You have every right to brag! If I ever move to the Phoenix area I'll be sure to give Dave or Paul a call. I just had a root canal done - yuck. Anyway congratulations going out to both of them! Tell Dave hi for me.

You have every right to brag. Every girl ought to grab the chance to brag about her husband. Most wives do our fair share complaining about the little things, we should definitely celebrate the big things.

That's a hugely impressive accomplishment....bragging rights all the way, girl! My husband is the 3M rep and sells dental supplies in Boise. If we lived in AZ I am sure he would frequent your brother and hubbies' offices!

Kristi in Idaho

I found your blog from Jennie Davies. It was amidst other dental school names and try as I might (well, within the first several posts anyway) I couldn't find a picture of your FACE. I figured there must be some connection with the whole dental thing, but I didn't want to look stupid and say hey do I know you. i'm a dork and have been for a very long time. Put a picture of your face on here so I can remind myself. I'll be checking! Are you in Phoenix? Darin works down in Phoenix 2 days a week. In fact he just left to go down there which is why I am awake at this insane hour. Okay, back to bed I go!

Congrats to Paul and Dave! That is so great. And like they say, "Behind every successful man is his beautiful, supportive, dedicatied, long suffering, overly talented, great at everything, wife!" I think you deserve an award too.

Kara this is awesome! Congratulations to your husband! Your blog is awesome and that picture of your kids at the top is so cute. You really do have adorable kids. Where is your mom from? My Dad is from Idaho and had lots and lots of cousins. Do your parents live here or in Utah? My Dad is Grant Ward and his parents were Ross and Catherine Ward. And what a good idea on the auction? Do you know Nienie?

We are so proud of Paul! One of the reasons he always does so well is that he really cares about people and wants the best for them. Congrats Paul! We really think this is very impressive. God bless you always in all that you do! We are definitely cheerleaders in your behalf now and forever!

Okay, I hope I didn't offend you with my paying for my dentists home and pool comment. I just realized that that may have been embarrassing. I just meant that I have spent so much time in a Dentists chair.

Congrats to your husband and brother. There is nothing like seeing your family get recognition for all their hard work and talent.

And lucky you. I seriously would kill for a dentist I loved. Had one, and we drove an hour and a half each way just to get to him. But, he retired.

Anyway, hope you weren't offended. Sorry!

You brag girl-that is an honor! You can brag even louder if you help put him through dental school. Look forward to your post about your new neice, Mary Grace.

Great job Paul! We're definitely not surprised. Too bad for us that you don't live near us. We'll just have to cross our fingers when it comes to finding an Oral surgeon here. We would vote for you too!

Oh, and thanks a lot Kara. Now Ryan is giving me a hard time about the fact that I didn't mention on our blog that he was actually in this same type of magazine for attorney's this year. He was actually in it for the state of Utah the first couple years into his practice and then this year it covered Utah, Idaho, Washington, Colorado, and Wyoming. He's been giving me a hard time since this post. I just tell him how proud I am of him and now have to give it up more in the bedroom to make up for it. It works just as well for him. I'd rather do a post:)

I guess on things for sure, whatever the Kelly boys choose to do they do it well.

Make sure you pass on our congratulations to Paul.
