What's making me happy right now!

I had been eyeing this in the PB catalogue for quite some time. I finally decided to "just do it." For those of you who don't know me very well, I don't shop or spend money very much. Now I just have to load it with supplies, put all the calendar items on, and enjoy! BTW the hooks underneath for the bags are IKEA and $1.99 ea. Great buy!Another item I had been eyeing. I grew up with a round table and have decided there is nothing better. It's amazing how much fun it is when people are gathered around eating. It makes it so much more of an intimate get together...you really are focused on one another! The booster seat really adds the right touch don't you think? I need suggestions on a centerpiece!
How could looking at this face do anything but make you happy?
I love great prints and paper. When I find them together I can't resist. This is my "big purchase" at Anthropologie. I absolutely love that store, but still find it hard to spend $80 on a shirt, so I go for the $10 note cards. Look for some of these beauties in your mailbox.

Here is my other Anthropologie purchase. I know, I know, it's an apron. But isn't it adorable? Again, I'm a sucker for great prints. You can't tell against my black table, but the ribbon around the edge is brown. I couldn't pull the trigger on the fabulous $110 orange capri's, so I opted for the $20 practical apron. Paul would have preferred the capri's.

Kara,
I'm so glad you wrote me the little note! Yes, I am a friend of Julie's...(and Kristen). Looks like you guys live in AZ. I'm jealous! So even though we hardly know eachother, I'm adding you to my "Friends and Family" sidebar, b/c Kristen talked about you all the time, and so I feel like I kinda know you :) Hope that's OK!
Your family is darling, and how nice that Paul is done with school :)

Hey-
Love this post. So fun to see what makes you happy. I LOVE Anthropologie and most everything they sell -I love the apron and think its so fun to have something cute to wear around the kitchen! I too love the PB organizer. It looks great in your house. I am envious of your shopping possibilities in AZ, but unlike you and your thrifty nature- I know no boundaries which would be detrimental to my marriage!

Also love the screamin deals you added!

I love the apron! Anthropologie is one of my favorites! Hmmm, there are many cute things I can think of as a centerpiece! I was just looking for your e-mail address, and can't find it. Azsunm@aol.com is mine if you want to e-mail me! :)

Kara: I'm an avid voyer of your great blog- introduced to it by my sister-in-law, Jenny Meese. I too am not one to make big purchases but I too splurged on the Pottery Barn wall organizer a year or so ago! We love it! It has been so fantastic for organizing homework, displaying artwork, hanging wedding announcements and party invitations, etc. Such a lifesaver for a family of six! Jenny was a little freaked out at how similar our walls look, our organizer has a great row of hooks beneath it as well for four little back packs durring the school year. (Right now they're sporting swim goggles and beach towels!)

A comment on the apron - I've had my eye on one at Anthropology but it's $35! Again, dragging my feet on such a frivalous purchase but I think our bishops wife has talked me in to going back for it. She mentioned that a great apron can "hold its own" when cooking a meal for your sweetie if you've sent the kids off for a night at grandma and grandpa's. Hmm. Hot apron- $35, happy husband- priceless. Who needs orange capri's. Enjoy!

Jodi-

I love that you left your comment. I have been composing a post in my head all day about those lurking through the blogs but never commenting. I LOVE COMMENTS!! Your comments were great, and now I'm wondering where your blog is? Keep visiting, and keep commenting!!

Hey Kara, Just an idea for a table centerpiece. Did you ever see the turntables the Amish make. You can put them in the center of the table and they hold napkins, Salt & Pepper, butter and other condiments you want. They are very casual, but extremely functional. Just an idea. I you should decide you want one and don't have Amish in AZ. I could get you one when I got to Cashton next time. It was sure great to see you guys. Thanks for including us in your "tour of LaCrosse". We miss you. Come back any time! Love, The Bakers (Janean)

What fun things. I browsed Anthropologie this weekend too. I purchased a darling skirt on the sale racks.....now wishing I would have checked out the aprons...it may encourage me to cook during the summer...I lack motivation when "soup season" is over.
Why two calendars, I'm curious what you'll use the other one for....planning ahead for next week? Thanks for the tip on the cute rack at IKEA.

I always have to have the current month, and the next month. It's the only thing that keeps me on track!

Last week I was telling Matt how much I think you and Jodi have in common. This post is just another confirmation! I love that you even have the same great taste.
The apron is great and I love Nora's bow. Did you make that?

It's amazing what can make us happy. Like you, I'm weak when it comes to great prints on fabrica and paper. There is also nothing like good organization tools to make me happy even if it just creates an illusion that I am really organized. We must have the same genetics running through our veins. When you come to visit you better block out time to get me started on this blogging stuff. It is great! Love hop

I know I just made a comment. What is making me happy right now? Your blog! Is there anything better than a sister? I don't think so! No matter how good of friends you make in life there is no comparison to the depth, connection, interest and love of a sister. I was doubley (not a word) blessed! The Lord knew I needed sisters to get through this journey of life. Thanks for all you are!

Heather

P.S. We couldn't have more similar taste in music. I hadn't heard that song "women's work" for probably 18 years or so. I'm just cleaning up all the excess water on the floor from the tears I shed listening to it. Music speaks to my soul. I just wish I could play an instrument or sing to express more of it. Ok, my P.S. is longer than my original post.
