you may remember our eventful memorial day last year, documented here by paul, and here by yours truly. well...our little crazy man max did it again. this time no head injury was involved...thankfully. but he took a pretty good spill over the banister onto the hardwood floor. we are estimating that he fell a good 10 feet. once again...it could have been much worse. this time he came away with a broken wrist. it went through both bones and was badly misaligned...right along the growth plate. of course. so...they had to take him to the operating room to reset the bones.
no swim team this summer...again. it's so sad too because he was so excited...again. he smacked his face pretty good and sprained his foot, but other than that he's okay. i think next year we'll just have a movie marathon weekend...full of blankets and pillows.
here he is post surgery.
poor kid.

Oh No!!! Poor little guy.
So sad for little Max and not a fun way to start out the summer. I bet he'll rebound quickly. Please let us know if we can help over here. I can take or pick up Ella any time for swim team.
Poor kid. That stinks that he can't swim all summer! Hopefully everything heals quickly and you have better luck next memorial day.
How sad - what kid wants a cast on in the summer...in Arizona. I think a movie marathon might be your best bet!
oh wow, kara! that's traumatic for mom and max. hope he feels better soon. he looks so much bigger than the last time i saw him.
Oh my gosh! That looks horrifying! WoW! I am so glad he is okay. Looks like you guys are going to get lot out of this kid. ALOTTA Dr. BILLS!
Poor guy!!! definately involved pillows next memorial day. Glad he is okay.
So awful...poor guy. But you're right -- a wrist is way better than another head injury!! Hopefully he'll heal quickly and stay off bannisters from here on out!!
I'm so sad for poor Max! I hope he's feeling better by now...
Poor guy! What a way to start out the Summer. I swear it comes with the name! Utah plans anytime soon?
Poor guy!!! Hope he is feeling better soon!!!
I had a student who went out and did something of the same nature…right before Football was going to start.
He wasn't too thrilled, either.
So SAD!! Hope he is recovering nicely!
